All About Me
My goals are simple: to make beautiful images that capture the moment.
I make my photo shoots as fun and relaxing as possible, and I am committed to bringing out the personality of my subjects, whether they are people or pets.
As a graduate of the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, I have a strong understanding of photojournalism, advertising photography, and studio lighting. I lived in New York City for ten years, doing freelance photography that included still life, food, jewelry and fashion shoots. I also worked for a non-profit, The Trust for Public Land, photographing children playing in newly created playgrounds. This helped over time to change my focus from still life to people. I started photographing families and pets, and working as a second photographer for weddings. I discovered my love of movement, finding beautiful lighting, and creating memories. Today I am based out of both Fairfield County, CT, and New York, NY.
Wedding photography has become an exciting part of my career. I have found that this type of photography requires me to recall everything I have ever learned about photography and use it all in one day. I love the challenge this brings me. And I am also always taken by the beauty and love that make these events so special. When I photograph a wedding I am able to slip around unnoticed and capture the moments with a photojournalistic eye. But I also like to stop the couple if I see perfect lighting or an amazing location, and I am very adept at efficiently directing group shots.
I am also an animal lover and love photographing pets. From the first day I began to photograph my rescue dog, I was hooked. Be sure to check out my website for examples of my work with animals.
